  Attorney David Edgren in Anchorage should be avoided at all costs. He initially accepted my retainer and then charged me a full rate for a visit and would not provide any information as to the whereabouts of my retainer. When I asked his receptionist for an itemized list she became visibly irritated and looked at me like "Oh you are going to be one of Those people". I am a single working dad trying to save for a house for myself and my son. Unlike Atty Edgren I do not earn $200 an hour and so I expect full accountability for my hard earned money. He suddenly and without warning stopped returning all phone calls and his receptionist stopped answering my phone calls (I would assume she has Caller ID). He never provided me an itemized list and at this point I'm in the process of submitting a grievance with the Bar Association of Alaska and then I will need to seek fee arbitration to recover my minor $500 retainer. He clearly intends to make me jump through legal hoops to recover my retainer even though he did nothing in my interests whatsoever. I will jump through those hoops without religious fervor as there is absolutely no way he is keeping my money. I will then use the internet to share this story as much as possible. He will regret wasting my time and attempting to finagle me out of my money. He left me in a position of EXTREME liability in my custody case: he left me waiting for a document he was to draft and my 20-day response deadline came and went with no word from him whatsoever. This means my ex could go to the courts and seek an uncontested decision and I would lose all custodial rights to my son! Atty Edgren didn't even have the common decency to call me and tell me he would not be able to help me and that I should find another attorney. In my personal opinion he is the most despicable person I've ever shaken hands with and I can't wash that hand enough. His receptionist is unprofessional and grossly patronizing. I Hate to be called "Sweetie" by anyone but my mom or my mom's mom - let alone a pretentious secretary with a bluetooth headset. If I could give negative stars I would.

  I am a military owner that utilized this company's service for a few short years to rent a property that I own in the state. Initially things were okay, but very spotty services especially in communication and maintenance soon followed. After terminating services I discovered that most maintenance performed at my property was by a company who's owner just so happened to be married to the owner of this property management company. From what I can tell by reading through AK real estate laws, this property management company should have notified me of the spousal relationship with the maintenance company prior to maintenance being performed, as it is a conflict of interest. While visiting the property after termination with AK diversified, I had discovered that several maintenance actions that were performed were only partially completed or not performed at all. I did not have a very good experience with this company and do not recommend. Military owners/renters use caution if your currently utilizing this management company.
